Iituli Aalto

Born Finnish, Iituli has travelled extensively across the world, before deciding to live in Palawan, the Philippines to integrate her long history in working with Plan International (Childrens Rights NGO), Yoga, Therapy, Arts Management and facilitating international retreats.

Today, Iituli is managing Maia Earth Village, a center for permaculture, tribal wisdom, integrative spirituality and deep ecology. She is hard at work bringing her insights from founding the innerdance movement in Finland eight years ago to how the spiritual practice finds holistic application in the local schools, prison systems and medical practices in the Philippines.

Every year, Iituli returns to her Helsinki home and travels across Europe to co-facilitate trainings with her Filipino partner, hoping to bring spiritual pilgrims together with educators, parents, doctors, and corporate workers who are asking how science and energy journeys collaborate within the same inclusive classroom.

When in the Philippines, Iituli takes care of the local village team, cows, dogs, cats, local children and an army of plants with tropical permaculture practices and reforestation. She is the main team coordinator and co-founder for Maia Earth Village’s two sites in Palawan, involving indigenous people, the project’s residents and the countless guests who travel to Maia from all over the world to learn about innerdance’s roots.

INNERDANCE

category - Awaken

There are many reasons for why innerdance has been experienced by countless participants around the world for many years, often bringing along profound and life-altering experiences. The experience is a study of altered states of time and the perception of dimensionality. In the process we can journey into an awake REM state and deep stages regularly visited during dream time.

The process involves entraining the circadian systems to transcend the rhythms of logic and human normativities, pushing the brain and the mind to expanded horizons of seeing beyond the limits of conditioning and mental habits. Music and sound is involved primarily to stimulate various brain regions that regulate the body clock, triggering the autonomic nervous system’s instinctual intelligences.

We start the process by laying down and through natural co-activation of the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system, the body may move on its own intelligence, the mind may travel to unknown realms, the inner eye may see the invisible areas of the psyche, and most commonly shared, there is a safe journey back to source. The workshop starts with the innerdance process and ends to integration journey. In an innerdance process, we together create the conditions where healing can happen on its own, guided by the individual’s own intelligence system.

The process is co-facilitated with live dj’ing by Pi Villaraza and supported by the Finnish innerdance facilitators.
