Julia is the founder of BAY Pilates & Yoga at Kanavaranta Katajanokka. She discovered Pilates in her early twenties which took her to Sydney, Australia, to study with Polestar Pilates to become a certified teacher on the mat and apparatus. With a background in contemporary dance and having practiced the Feldenkrais method, Alexander Technique, Klein Technique, meditation and yoga, Julia’s classes are influenced by these somatic approaches to create a transformative and positive movement experience.
Julia is passionate about making everyone feel welcome and included. Her approach to Pilates is holistic and focused on the body-mind connection composed by precise movement, flowing transitions and the breath.
